AT&T Managed Internet Service (MIS) is
a value-added service providing managed connectivity to the
Internet and other value-added features. Internet access is
available at varying access bandwidth speeds, depending upon
the access options selected. MIS includes a dedicated connection
to the Internet, offer components, implementation support
(domain name registration, access circuit provisioning and
acceptance testing), network monitoring, access link management,
and user support (24-hour, 7-day/week hotline, trouble ticket
reporting and resolution, fault isolation through to the service
demarcation point, and security support).
MIS requires the use of equipment, i.e.,
router and CSU/DSU (or equivalent), which is installed on
the customer's premises. MIS Customers may elect to have AT&T
provide the equipment as part of the Service (AT&T MIS
with Managed Router), or Customers may provide these components
themselves (MIS). Customers that elect to provide their own
equipment must adhere to equipment specifications as defined
by AT&T Internet Services. If the customer elects to have
AT&T provide the router, the following additional features
are included: installation support (site planning, equipment
staging, and initial service integration), router and CSU/DSU
management and maintenance, software and configuration support,
and fault isolation through to the LAN port of Customer's
router. MIS will be provisioned to ensure adequate throughput
for MIS on a shared-facilities basis consistent with the selected
access bandwidth speed.
Except as expressly provided below, Customer
must supply: (1) access from Customer's location(s), to the
nearest designated AT&T Point of Presence ("Access
Facilities"); and (2) all equipment necessary to connect
to the Service. For MIS customers leasing the router from
AT&T only, Customers must (1) provide a POTS (Plain Old
Telephone Service) line and (2) assign operational and management
control of such equipment, including passwords, to AT&T
and must also supply space, power and attachments to Customer's
internal network, including at least one computer with TCP/IP
support. IP addresses are allocated by AT&T to Customer
per the Internet Registry (ARIN) guidelines following RFC
2050. Any change requested by a Customer to the AT&T allocated
addresses must be agreed to in the Attachment. Except where
indicated, references herein to "MIS" include both
MIS (customer-provided router) and MIS with Managed Router
(AT&T-provided router). It is AT&T's policy to continually
improve its products and services and it may, therefore, from
time to time, change the Service as provided to Customer under
the Attachment.
